The Mystery blogger award

I am so very excited and humbled to be nominated for the Mystery Blogger award by Manessah B, a wonderful writer whom writes a lovely variety of poetic pieces (check out her site at Couchtalks). I promise you’ll find something inspiring from her writing.

For myself I am just excited that my writing has reached anyone and that people have found something of interest in the art I have created. Everyday I write with the joy of knowing that this blogging community supports and is with me, so thankyou for that πŸ™‚

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.
  • Answer the questions from the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate other bloggers.
  • Ask your nominees 5 questions of your choice.
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.

So firstly thank you to the original creator of this award, whose blog you can find at https://www.okotoenigmasblog.com/

and now…

Manessah’s questions for me and my answers.

  1. What motivated you to start blogging?

My initial motivation to start blogging was actually based on a dice roll. I was looking for a way to write more (and a means of setting some deadlines to ‘force’ me to write) and I had a couple of ways I wanted to do that. That list was… 1-2 : Start sending in letters to the West Australian (a newspaper in my state) for the editorials 3-4: Focus all my attention on writing a novel and 5-6: Start an online writing blog The dice rolled a 5…so here I am.

  2. What kind of blogs draw your attention (i.e. poetry blogs, blogs that post inspirational quotes, blogs on cooking, etc.)?

The thing I am looking for the most in a blog is thought-provoking content. Be it poetry, short stories, photography, pictograms or whatever. The world is a huge place, and seeking alternate viewpoints on any part of it is valuable (though admittedly I’ve taken a recent shine to haiku or poetry focused sites)

  3. If you were a super villain, what would your name be and what would be your super power?

I think it goes without saying I’d be The Diceman. Think the Riddler but an even gaudier outfit. I don’t necessarily think I would have a super power, I just think I would laugh maniacally and throw dice at people. Picture a scene with Batman dangling over a shark tank, and The Diceman shouting with glee “I’ll give you but one chance Caped crusader! If I roll a five you shall survive! What an odd chance that shall be Nyah Nyah Nyah!”

  4. If you could travel back in time and give your younger self some advice, what would it be?

Don’t let other people decide your future, you can do whatever you want and don’t doubt yourself. Remember that every day is a gift.

  5. What is your favorite thing about blogging?

My favourite (Aussie spelling ^_^) thing about blogging is the community. The ability to put up posts and have people from all over the world see it, like it, be inspired by it, critique it, and provide feedback is wonderful. Especially since my writing style is essentially self-taught, having that active audience around to look at my pieces is really great for developing and improving my writing. Thankyou πŸ™‚

My nominee’s

The following blogs have really impacted my writing, I always look forward to reading their work and value their contribution to the community. Here are my nominee’s for The mystery blogger award

My questions for the nominee’s

  1. What kinds of writing habits or strategies do you use?
  2. If you could travel anywhere in the world for free, where would you go and why?
  3. When you aren’t writing, what kind of hobbies do you enjoy?
  4. What kind of blogs are you interested in?
  5. Which novel has had the most impact on your life… and why?

Once again thank you so much Manessah for the nomination, and for all my readers who visit and comment! This community is so open to ideas and welcoming, it truly inspires my musing and writings on a daily basis. Thank you!

      • Hahahah! If you wrote a screenplay for The Diceman, I would TOTALLY be the first in line ready to read it! πŸ˜„

I’m super glad I was able to learn a bit more about you and I wish your blog continued success! ☺️

  2. I have been a little busy of late so apologies for not stopping by before to say how much I enjoyed reading your Mystery Blogger Award comments that you made. I love your ethic – your answer to question 4 was great and is a measure of who you are, and great advice for others.

Now I really think you are on to something with question 3, and should audition for the part of ‘The Diceman’ right away! I love that your character would base decisions, cast on the role of a dice 😜

Looking forward to seeing a lot more great works of art fly from your mind. Have an awesome dayπŸ’™
